Hey,
I was looking online for suggestions on how to grow canteloupe (I thought i'd squeeze in one) and found a site that was saying I could grow them much like peas, trelice-style going up a chain link fence. She also suggested using pantyhose as a sling for the melons, tied to the fence. Eventually I'd have to change the pantyhose out for stronger fabric (I have scraps of polyester that'd work fine) as the melons get larger. But... I could have a few plants that way, and maybe get a dozen melons. Wow!
anybody have any other insights on growing them this way? or simple, easy ways to make the ground like what they want?
thanks
nadia
